we're all made from stardust! (:

nice quote, innit. but no, not some randomly coined-up quote; it's very, very literal (for once), but yet it carries so much meaning that i couldn't really help but like it a lot. :D

mhmm yes it's literal because chemically-speaking, all the elements in this universe are created from a fusion of hydrogen atoms in all sorts of random (or should i say, not-so-random) configurations. and since all that fusion happens in the sun and the other stars in the universe, we're literally composed of stardust. it's quite amusing how we got to that, really; we were just wondering whether we could possibly change one isotope of an element to another, with drslatter talking about firing neutrons through particle accelerators and stuff like that, and then we got to astrochemistry. D: hahaha, chemRA for you, i guess.

but okay, it's a nice reminder of how each and every one of us are so, so special in every little way (like i mean, stardust!), and how we (pardon the monstrosity of the cheesiness -> somehow this reminds of pizza covered with globs and globs of cheese but okay y'see i'm getting incoherent once again) all have that potential to shine. (: okay so my logic has never been fantabulous, but it's just such an interesting thought. then again you could also think of it as how we're all part of this one big interconnected entity, how we as singular individuals fit into one entire cosmic map. now i sorta understand why astronomy holds so much for stacey, though i guess i won't be becoming a convert anytime soon, hahaha.

speaking of stars and the like, i remember gazing up into the sky during chinese new years' eve, and realizing that i have a really cool view of the stars from my house! granted, there's a little bit of light pollution from the streetlamps and everything, but i insist i saw just about as many stars as we did at ubin, which is seriously, nothing short of amazing. :D someday stacey and gang could try stargazing at my house, heeheehee. xD

okay random thoughts are just coming to me now but okay i felt so, so much love for rgs today during founders' day rehearsal! the whole conception of founders' day this year is truly so brilliant and so awe-inspiring (pun, anyone?). sitting on the steps of the amphitheatre and taking the occasional glance around the classroom blocks that tower over you, looking up into the very expanses of the sky while listening to the stirring music that runs throughout the entire concert segment, that feeling is indescribable. D: i just felt bowled over, hahaha. xD of course i won't give things away just yet - otherwise it won't be fun at all :/, though we all know very convincingly that stacey is playing the part of a tree - but it was certainly very impactful for me. and to think i was just commenting to jiaxuan about how i loved the landscaping of rgs, how our school campus wasn't stuffy and block-like as per other schools...i guess it's kinda weird to start feeling nostalgic about stuff in school even when you still have about a year and 10 months left to spend here (though even that sounds awfully short!), but i'm just so appreciative of the things that we have. (:

(i am most valiantly ignoring homework and all that jazz, but stay strong, don't stress and everything will be fine! it has been, anyway; i'm hoping that everything will be good - i'm sure it will. :D)

things like that are truly good to know. ♥

composed; 8:02 PM :D

lives, writes, sings, plays the piano, and attempts to sound intellectual at times (conclusion: fails rather miserably).

loves music (almost strictly classical, hurhur & inclusive of faziolis!), literature (& also the sciences - no they are not in conflict), making hopelessly lame puns, laughter, white/milk chocolate, cheesecake, the world & the people in it. list not exhaustive, by the way.

wants the world to be filled with peace, joy and love, and also wants (perhaps a little more selfishly) to be happy, plus lead a life of purpose. that would be more than enough. (:

oh, and she likes embarking on her own 'free hugs!' campaigns after exams and the like; not really sure why. D: (at any rate, you can tell that she's random enough.)

loves you!♥

very plain, she knows; but this is probably herself in its entirety - nothing more than a compilation of perhaps-boring-to-you little things (and the occasional Important Event), but also nothing less than all the brilliant memories which constitutes her life, and perhaps yours.

also interpreted as an inability to express with other things but words (nothing more, nothing less!), although even words sometimes won't do enough. but she does like orange.

v2.0 (230208): maybe solid grey isn't that fantastic after all. but wordy is good, all the same. she's weird, she knows.

ver. i-pretend-that-it-is-3.0-when-i-know-it-is-not (070608): i am boring, take that. (:

v4.0 (200908): got bored, so cut down on the quasi-fanciful stuff even more. perfectly plain now, though somehow the background still doesn't work on safari / google chrome. ):
